The Wellness program vision is to: Engage VT State employees and organizations through
evidence-based health promotion programs in order to improve the health of individuals and worksites. The program supports the state employee population through partnerships with health and wellness related resources both within and outside of state government. This is achieved through:
Wellness Screenings:
Held at the worksite, this one-on-one visit with a nurse/health educator includes the following:
- Health Risk Appraisal
- Biometric testing of blood pressure, glucose and cholesterol
- Coaching and action planning
- Provision of referrals and educational resources
Activity Program:
Getmoving.vermont.gov is an on-line activity program available to state employees as well as their family and friends. The program is designed to encourage participation in physical activity and partners with Get Moving Vermont through the Department of Health to link state employees with the communities of VT.
Flu Vaccination Clinics:
Flu Vaccination clinics are conducted annually for employees during the workday on a state-wide basis. They provide an opportunity and access for State employees to take preventative steps and to improve their health.
Workshops and Classes:
Educational opportunities are facilitated by the program through collaborative partners such as: The VT Blueprint for Health: Healthier Living Initiative, the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross, InvestEAP and Department of Health’s Tobacco Cessation Program. They are held at the Summit: Center for State Employee Development in Waterbury and at individual worksites throughout the state, depending on need.
